The qualified applicant should be able to demonstrate a high level of interest in Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI). The position provides the opportunity to support CEI efforts for exciting, challenging, and high-profile transportation projects for TXDOT, and other local Municipalities. This position provides training, guidance, and development of skills needed to lead major projects as Resident Engineer in the future. The role involves building analytic and design skills, conducting engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer, creating designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer, collecting and analyzing data, and using computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems. The engineer will perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
Responsibilities
- Support Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) efforts for transportation projects.
- Conduct engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under supervision.
- Collect and analyze data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Use computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
- Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
Requirements
- BA/BS in Civil Engineering or relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Driving is required for this position.
Nice-to-haves

- Bachelors in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- Roadway and structures Experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
