About the position

Bowman is seeking a Civil Engineer II to join their team in Sunrise, FL. This role involves evaluating, selecting, and applying standard engineering techniques on moderately complex projects, while working collaboratively with senior engineers, clients, and design teams. The position emphasizes both independent and team-based work, with a focus on delivering high-quality engineering solutions and advancing professional growth within the company.

Responsibilities

• Receive general instruction on key objectives for execution and direction on complex assignments.
• Work with senior engineers, clients, and subcontractors on engineering project issues.
• Conceptualize the initial civil design approach for large land/site development phases.
• Evaluate and apply standard engineering techniques on moderately complex projects.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of assigned project work.
• Complete civil engineering work for assigned phases of large land/site development.
• Make design recommendations and modifications as needed.
• Assist in developing plans, specifications, and reports.
• Provide technical assistance in resolving design problems, including field investigations and inspections.
• Prepare reports and correspondence regarding project direction.
• Collaborate with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
• Review plans and prepare or review technical specifications and estimates.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field required at time of hire.
• EIT certification and/or progress toward earning Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Three or more years of experience in civil engineering, preferably in land/site development.
• Experience with civil engineering design software such as Civil3D.
• Proficiency in reading construction plans and knowledge of AutoCAD and related software.
• Experience with Storm Drain Modeling and Rational Method Hydrologic Calculations.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with large- and small-scale drainage and BMP design.
• Proficient with HEC-RAS modeling and CLOMR/LOMR applications.
• Experience researching zoning and development standards.
