AECOM is seeking a Mid-Level Civil Engineer for the Surface Transportation Department in Murray, Utah. This position plays a crucial role in the design and development of various transportation projects, which may include urban and rural roadways, interstate highways, interchanges, and design-build projects. The ideal candidate will be involved in the geometric design of roadways, creating horizontal and vertical alignments and models, and preparing comprehensive design reports, including design study reports and technical memorandums. In this role, you will coordinate with project stakeholders, including clients, the public, utility companies, and permitting agencies, ensuring that all aspects of the project align with UDOT or local standards. You will be responsible for calculating quantities and estimates for transportation projects, providing specialized technical input to studies and designs, and participating in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables. Additionally, you will prepare technical specification sections and contribute to the development of engineering budgets and schedules to meet project requirements. As a Mid-Level Civil Engineer, you will work under the supervision of a senior engineer, performing specific and limited portions of broader assignments. You will gather and correlate basic engineering data using established procedures, work on detailed engineering assignments involving calculations, and identify discrepancies in results. Your role will also involve proposing solutions to new problems encountered, providing guidance to entry-level engineers, and utilizing computer software as a tool for solving engineering problems. You will collaborate with design teams consisting of multidisciplinary design engineers, technicians, and planners, ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with agreed-upon budgets and schedules. Effective communication, both written and oral, is essential as you will be interacting with peers and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
