About the position

TranSystems is excited to announce that it has been recognized as a top 100 design firm by Engineering News-Record in 2024. We are committed to building strong relationships with our clients, partners, and communities, believing that we can achieve more together. Our core values—integrity, resourcefulness, and innovative thinking—are at the heart of our approach to sustainable infrastructure solutions. We are currently seeking a motivated and talented Civil Engineer II to join our Berkeley office's growing engineering team. This position will involve civil engineering design, CAD work, and plan layout and presentation for a variety of projects, including rail, road, airport infrastructure, coastal development, industrial site development, storm water management, and utilities design projects. In this role, you will be challenged to prepare conceptual designs and construction documents using software such as Microstation/Geopak/OpenRoads and AutoCAD/Civil 3D, as well as SewerCAD. You will also be responsible for preparing investigative design reports, studies, and databases/maps, with GIS experience preferred but not required. Project coordination will be a key aspect of your responsibilities, working closely with in-house engineering teams, architects, and outside consultants. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to mentor, train, and oversee the work of junior staff while maintaining a hands-on role in the production of deliverables. Under the general supervision of the team leader, you will direct, coordinate, and exercise functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects.
