About the position

AECOM's Water Business Line is seeking a Civil Engineer III to work in Coral Gables or Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This role involves collaborating with Project Managers and technical teams on various water, wastewater, stormwater, and resiliency projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, design, permitting, and construction phase services, ensuring high-quality and cost-effective project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, design, permitting, and construction phase services for municipal water/wastewater, stormwater, and resiliency projects.
  • Serve as a senior technical resource and advisor for the team.
  • Communicate project tasks between offices, requiring high-level coordination and communication skills.
  • Provide specialized technical input to studies and design for specific areas of expertise.
  • Develop study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality work by others.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
  • Develop construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
  • Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
  • Prepare technical specification sections.
  • Provide input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
  • Oversee construction phase engineering services.
  • Coordinate with clients, sub-consultants, regulatory agencies, and the public to accomplish assigned objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or related field.
  • 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in civil or environmental engineering.
  • Experience as a Professional Engineer in municipal water/wastewater and stormwater infrastructure engineering design projects.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Florida.
  • Experience mentoring or supervising other engineering professionals.
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with a diverse audience.
  • Experience in construction phase services.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to work with diverse teams.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading technical engineering and managing water, wastewater, and stormwater projects.
