About the position

The Summer Internship Program at Black & Veatch is designed to provide students with valuable experience in a professional working environment. Interns will engage in meaningful work assignments, gain insights into the corporate culture, and have opportunities to network with experienced executives and leaders. This internship is available in the Overland Park, Ann Arbor, and Raleigh offices, and operates in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, evaluate, and design specifications and contract drawings
• Perform a variety of tasks to support engineering analyses, report production, and designs
• Prepare basic calculations
• Assist in basic equipment selection
• Coordinate with other disciplines
• Schedule project deliverables
• Collect, organize, and evaluate data
• Analyze systems utilizing computer modeling
• Organize and file project materials and references

Requirements

• Current enrollment in an ABET accredited university in Civil Engineering program with emphasis in Structural, Environmental, Transportation, or Geotechnical
• No prior experience required
• Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements
