About the position

Halff Associates Inc. is actively seeking a Civil Engineer Intern for our Structural team located in Richardson, TX. This internship offers a unique opportunity for students pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or an ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree to gain hands-on experience in the field. The Civil Engineering Intern will be involved in various aspects of bridge and building design projects, contributing to the development of innovative solutions in structural engineering. As part of the internship, the intern will assist in designing projects that include buildings, hydraulic structures, civil structures, and vehicular bridges. The role will also involve reviewing the production of construction drawings for their own work, ensuring that all designs meet the necessary standards and specifications. Additionally, the intern will help review project budgets, providing valuable insights into the financial aspects of engineering projects. CAD assistance may also be required, allowing the intern to enhance their technical skills in computer-aided design. This position is full-time, requiring 40 hours of work per week, typically from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. It is important to note that Halff does not provide housing for interns, so candidates should be prepared to manage their own accommodations during the internship period. This role is an excellent opportunity for students to apply their academic knowledge in a practical setting and to develop their professional skills in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Help design projects such as buildings, hydraulic structures, civil structures, and vehicular bridges.

Requirements

  • Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree.
