About the position

The Civil Engineer Intern position at Black & Veatch is designed for students currently enrolled in an ABET accredited Civil Engineering program. This internship provides hands-on experience in a professional environment, allowing interns to engage in meaningful work assignments while gaining insight into the corporate culture of Black & Veatch. Interns will have the opportunity to network with experienced executives and leaders, enhancing their professional development.

Responsibilities

• Develop, evaluate, and design specifications and contract drawings
• Perform a variety of tasks to support engineering analyses, report production, and designs
• Prepare basic calculations
• Assist in basic equipment selection
• Coordinate with other disciplines
• Schedule project deliverables
• Collect, organize, and evaluate data
• Analyze systems utilizing computer modeling
• Organize and file project materials and references

Requirements

• Current enrollment in an ABET accredited university in Civil Engineering program with emphasis in Structural, Environmental, Transportation, or Geotechnical
• Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements
