About the position

The position of Civil Engineer focuses on land development projects in the Dallas area, requiring expertise in various civil engineering principles and practices. The role involves both independent and team-based work, with opportunities for direct client interaction and professional growth. Candidates will engage in designing and leading specifications for diverse projects, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Apply civil engineering principles to assigned projects, either as a team leader or functioning independently.
• Create a design plan and lead specification production on a wide variety of projects including site layouts, grading and drainage, paving, and utilities.
• Lead the preparation of water quality reports and drainage studies, including hydraulic and hydrologic calculations.
• Perform calculations, review specifications, and prepare permitting applications.
• Prepare and review cost estimates for projects.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, and public agencies.
• Execute complex assignments utilizing judgment in the evaluation and modification of standard engineering techniques under the guidance of the Project Manager.
• Propose new approaches to problems encountered in projects.
• May supervise project staff and mentor junior staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant design experience related to Land Development projects (commercial, residential, or industrial).
• Demonstrated experience with AutoCAD or Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Engineer-in-Training certification at a minimum; PE preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
