About the position

As a Civil Engineer specializing in Land Development, you will play a key role in project teams, contributing to the planning, design, and implementation of various land development projects. You will collaborate with project managers, architects, planners, and other stakeholders to develop creative and effective land development solutions, ensuring that projects meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. Your responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing engineering plans, specifications, and reports for site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, and erosion control. You will conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and due diligence assessments to evaluate project constraints and opportunities. Additionally, you will perform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations to design stormwater management systems, including detention basins, retention ponds, and conveyance systems. Coordinating with regulatory agencies to obtain necessary permits and approvals for project development will also be a critical part of your role. You will conduct construction site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with design plans, specifications, and applicable codes and standards, while also assisting in the preparation of construction cost estimates, project schedules, and contract documents. As a mentor, you will supervise junior engineering staff and provide technical guidance and support as needed, while staying current with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to land development engineering.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification and the ability to obtain PE certification within six months of hire.
  • Strong technical skills in land development design, including proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on land development projects.
  • Demonstrated experience leading project teams, managing budgets, and interacting with clients and regulatory agencies.
