About the position

The Civil Engineer Manager will oversee operations within the Permits Section of the Clean Water Program at the Northeast Regional Office of the Department of Environmental Protection. This role emphasizes leadership, team skill enhancement, and a commitment to sustainability, ensuring compliance with regulations while fostering collaboration among team members to achieve program goals.

Responsibilities

• Manage all operations within the Permits Section of the Clean Water Program.
• Ensure all activities are conducted efficiently and in compliance with relevant regulations.
• Facilitate collaboration among team members to meet program goals.
• Evaluate plans, engineering reports, specifications, and other pertinent documents.
• Prepare, coordinate, and submit feedback regarding proposed changes to departmental regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Assist regional counsel in formulating responses to appeals concerning permits issued or denied.
• Conduct employee actions including interviewing, selecting, and training new employees.
• Prepare employee performance reviews and handle administration matters.

Requirements

• Four years of professional civil engineering experience, including three years in the appropriate specialty and one year directing the work of civil engineers.
• Possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.
