About the position

The Senior Seismic Engineer position at Westinghouse involves supporting civil and structural design activities, particularly focusing on seismic analysis and soil-structure interaction. The role requires addressing technical issues throughout the project lifecycle, providing on-site support, and utilizing various analytical tools. This position is hybrid, requiring two days a week on-site in Cranberry Township, PA, and is part of a team dedicated to delivering clean energy solutions.

Responsibilities

• Support civil/structural design activities including evaluation of soil-structure-interaction effects.
• Address technical issues related to seismic analysis of building structures.
• Handle technical issues during the fabrication, assembly, and construction phases of projects.
• Provide on-site support at various utilities and smaller projects as needed.
• Utilize analytical tools such as ANSYS, LS-DYNA, GTSTRUDL, and SASSI.
• Maintain software compliance records and close engineering corrective actions.
• Familiarize with applicable industry civil/structural codes and standards.
• Develop engineering sketches and markups using AutoCAD or similar CAD programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• 4-10 years of experience in the field.
• FE/EIT certification strongly preferred.
• Prior experience in seismic analysis and soil-structure-interaction analysis preferred.
• PE certification or plan to obtain PE preferred.
• Experience in the nuclear industry is a plus.
• Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with seismic analysis tools and methodologies.
• Familiarity with nuclear industry standards and practices.
