About the position

Skyline Personnel is seeking a Civil Engineer for a client of ours in Raleigh! As a civil engineer specializing in land development, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing various aspects of land development projects, from initial planning stages to completion. You will work closely with project teams, clients, and regulatory agencies to ensure projects meet design standards, environmental regulations, and client objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct feasibility studies and site investigations to assess land suitability for development.
  • Analyze topographic and geotechnical data to inform site design.
  • Prepare conceptual and detailed site designs, including grading plans, drainage systems, utilities layout, roadways, and landscaping.
  • Utilize CAD software and engineering principles to develop design plans.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including zoning ordinances, environmental regulations, and permitting requirements.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies to obtain necessary approvals and permits.
  • Provide construction support services, including reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, and conducting site inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with architects, landscape architects, surveyors, and other engineering disciplines to integrate site design elements and deliver comprehensive project solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
  • 5+ years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on land development projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other design software.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, including site grading, drainage design, and utility infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and permitting processes related to land development.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
