Our mission is to help safeguard our future by executing projects that contribute to cleaner stormwater, encourage greener urban areas, facilitate access for all, and promote pedestrian and bicycle use. The successful candidate will provide civil engineering analysis and design on a variety of federal, municipal, and commercial projects, including stormwater, grading, multiuse paths, complete/green streets projects, ADA ramps, active transportation projects, surveying, bridges, and related ancillary structures.

Responsibilities

  • Civil Engineering infrastructure design that includes stormwater capture/water quality management, low impact development/green infrastructure, grading and drainage (using Civil3D), hydrology and hydraulics, ADA ramp design, street design as it relates to complete/green streets
  • Evaluate alternatives, resolve technical issues, and work collaboratively with other Tetra Tech engineering disciplines
  • Perform conceptual and detailed design calculations and analyses
  • Prepare detailed engineering reports and supporting documents
  • Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in California required, or able to obtain within 6 months
  • 5+ years of related civil engineering experience
  • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
  • Strong communication, report writing, organization, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to self-direct and self-check plan sets and reports; working knowledge of applicable codes, and the ability to review and write project specifications
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and experience with Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Low Impact Development (LID) techniques
  • Desired background will ideally include design-related project work and process experience in stormwater capture/water quality management, low-impact development/green infrastructure, grading and drainage (using Civil3D), hydrology and hydraulics, ADA ramp, bikeway/pedestrian pathways, street design as it relates to complete/green streets, water distribution and sanitary sewer collection systems and permitting
