About the position

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Civil Engineer to join our team at a Civil and Surveying firm that is 100% employee-owned across four different offices. This exciting opportunity allows you to work on a variety of projects, ranging from land development to erosion control. As a Permanent Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing civil engineering projects, focusing on land development while adhering to established codes and regulations. You will utilize Civil 3D software for designing and modeling purposes, ensuring accurate and efficient project completion. Implementing erosion control measures in all relevant projects is essential to ensure environmental sustainability. You will collaborate with various teams and stakeholders, communicating effectively to ensure the successful completion of projects. Conducting site inspections and analyzing data, including maps, reports, tests, and drawings, will be part of your responsibilities to ensure all projects adhere to the highest standards of quality and safety. In this role, you will manage and direct construction, operations, or maintenance activities at project sites. Additionally, you will prepare or present public reports, such as bid proposals, deeds, environmental impact statements, and property and right-of-way descriptions. Responsibilities

  • Design and develop civil engineering projects, focusing on land development, while adhering to established codes and regulations.
  • Utilize Civil 3D software for designing and modeling purposes, ensuring accurate and efficient project completion.
  • Implement erosion control measures in all relevant projects, ensuring environmental sustainability.
  • Collaborate with various teams and stakeholders, communicating effectively to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Conduct site inspections and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other), ensuring all projects adhere to the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Manage and direct the construction, operations, or maintenance activities at project site.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree will be considered an asset.
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in the field of civil engineering with a focus on land development.
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D and other relevant software.
  • Proven experience in erosion control and a strong understanding of environmental considerations in civil engineering projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and innovatively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and liaise with various stakeholders.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality in all work.
