About the position

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Civil Engineer to join our team at a Civil and Surveying firm that is 100% employee-owned across four different offices. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from land development to erosion control. The successful candidate will have the chance to work with a diverse team of professionals and contribute to the growth and development of our engineering department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in land development, expertise in Civil 3D, erosion control, and other facets of civil engineering. Responsibilities

  • Design and develop civil engineering projects, focusing on land development, while adhering to established codes and regulations.
  • Utilize Civil 3D software for designing and modeling purposes, ensuring accurate and efficient project completion.
  • Implement erosion control measures in all relevant projects, ensuring environmental sustainability.
  • Collaborate with various teams and stakeholders, communicating effectively to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Conduct site inspections and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other), ensuring all projects adhere to the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Manage and direct the construction, operations, or maintenance activities at project site.
  • Prepare or present public reports, such as bid proposals, deeds, environmental impact statements, and property and right-of-way descriptions.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree will be considered an asset.
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in the field of civil engineering with a focus on land development.
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D and other relevant software.
  • Proven experience in erosion control and a strong understanding of environmental considerations in civil engineering projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and innovatively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and liaise with various stakeholders.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality in all work.
