About the position

A well-established and growing engineering firm located in Charleston, South Carolina, is seeking a Professional Civil Engineer to join their team. The primary role of the Civil Engineer will be to provide engineering design and leadership for private land development projects, contributing to the firm's reputation for excellence in the engineering field. The Civil Engineer will be responsible for utilizing their civil engineering design skills to prepare design plans, construction documents, reports, and other project-related documents. This includes preparing pressurized system modeling for various water and wastewater projects, conducting roadway and drainage analysis and design, and overseeing residential, municipal, and commercial site development. The firm is looking for a candidate who can effectively manage these responsibilities while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering design and site development, with at least five years of relevant experience. They should possess excellent organizational skills, strong verbal and written communication abilities, and a proven capacity for problem-solving. Familiarity with engineering design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroStation is essential. While a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is preferred, the firm is open to considering a strong Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) who can obtain their P.E. within 12 months.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Civil Engineering design skills to prepare design plans, construction documents, reports, and other project-related documents.
  • Prepare pressurized system modeling for various water and wastewater projects.
  • Conduct roadway and drainage analysis/design.
  • Oversee residential, municipal, and commercial site development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in Civil Engineering design and site development.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to problem solve effectively.
  • Software experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and other applicable engineering design tools.
  • P.E. is preferred but a strong E.I.T who can obtain their P.E. within 12 months will be considered.
