About the position

A well-established, growing engineering firm located in Parkersburg, West Virginia, is seeking a Professional Civil Engineer to join their team. The primary role of the Civil Engineer will be to provide engineering design and leadership for private land development projects, contributing to the firm's reputation for excellence in the engineering field. In this position, the Civil Engineer will utilize their design skills to prepare comprehensive design plans, construction documents, reports, and other project-related documentation. The role will also involve preparing pressurized system modeling for various water and wastewater projects, conducting roadway and drainage analysis and design, and overseeing residential, municipal, and commercial site development. The firm is looking for a candidate who is not only technically proficient but also possesses strong organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication abilities, and a keen attention to detail. Problem-solving skills are essential for navigating the complexities of civil engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and at least 5 years of experience in civil engineering design and site development. While a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is preferred, the firm is open to considering a strong Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) who can obtain their P.E. within 12 months. Responsibilities

  • Utilize Civil Engineering design skills to prepare design plans, construction documents, reports, and other project-related documents.
  • Prepare pressurized system modeling for various water and wastewater projects.
  • Conduct roadway and drainage analysis/design.
  • Oversee residential, municipal, and commercial site development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in Civil Engineering design and site development.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to problem solve effectively.
  • Software experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and other applicable engineering design tools.
  • P.E. is preferred but a strong E.I.T who can obtain their P.E. within 12 months will be considered.
