In this role, you will adhere to the Crafton Tull Project Management Plan, ensuring that all team members working on assigned projects follow the established guidelines. You will analyze various reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, and other data to inform your project planning and design. Utilizing computer-assisted engineering and design software, you will create detailed engineering documents and specifications. Your responsibilities will also include calculating project costs, determining feasibility based on data analysis, and preparing comprehensive cost estimates. You will regularly meet with clients to coordinate project changes, address additional requirements, and resolve any issues that may arise. Coordination with officials, support staff, subcontractors, utilities, and other entities will be essential to ensure smooth project execution. Additionally, you will inspect construction sites to monitor progress and ensure compliance with engineering plans and standards. Managing project budgets and reviewing progress with senior management will be key components of your role, as will attending relevant meetings to stay informed about local requirements and project developments. Responsibilities

  • Adheres to the Crafton Tull Project Management Plan and ensures all who work on assigned projects adhere to the plan.
  • Analyzes reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photographs on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design projects.
  • Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to create engineering and design documents.
  • Calculates cost, determines feasibility of projects based on analysis of collected data, and prepares detailed cost estimates.
  • Prepares or directs preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, and designs for projects.
  • Meets with clients periodically to coordinate changes, inform clients of additional requirements, receive input from clients, answer client questions, and resolve issues.
  • Coordinates project activity with appropriate officials, support staff, subcontractors, utilities, and other entities.
  • Inspects construction sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction standards.
  • Manages each project budget to ensure projects stay on track and that company goals and objectives are met.
  • Meets with Chief Operating Officer or Chief Financial Officer periodically to review progress and budgets of assigned projects.
  • Attends meetings such as City Council meetings, Planning Commission meetings, and inspection meetings to provide/receive information on projects and local requirements.
  • Keeps abreast of changing techniques, materials, codes, regulations, and software through attendance at seminars, briefings, and other forums.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or required within a specified timeframe.
  • Proven experience in project management within the civil engineering field.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in engineering design software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and team members.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

  • Experience with municipal projects and local government regulations.
