About the position

The Civil Engineer Project Manager at Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is responsible for the coordination, management, and oversight of civil projects related to substation and transmission line facilities. This role involves various project components such as grading design, storm water management, and access road design, ensuring that all aspects of land development requirements are met. The position also includes management responsibilities like scoping, budgeting, scheduling, and quality control, overseeing both internal and subcontracted project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage civil projects associated with substation and transmission line facilities.
  • Oversee grading design for site development and storm water management.
  • Prepare hydrology and storm water reports based on project locality.
  • Conduct storm drain analysis and design access roads (both paved and unpaved).
  • Manage project scoping, budgeting, scheduling, and proposals.
  • Monitor project progress and report on quality control.
  • Oversee internal and subcontracted project teams conducting detailed design activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 10+ years of Project Management experience.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet fast-paced project schedules.
  • California PE preferred.
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of retaining wall and perimeter wall design.
  • Experience in public improvement design (curb, gutter, sidewalk, etc.).
  • Familiarity with permitting and jurisdictional specific plan preparation.
