Halff has an immediate opening for a Civil Engineer, with their Texas PE License, to join our Public Works group based out of our Richardson, TX office. The ideal candidate would have at least 5 years of experience in municipal roadway and drainage design on Public and/or Private Infrastructure projects. As a Civil Engineer in the Public Works department, you will work under a Professional Engineer Team Leader in the development of municipal roadway and drainage design projects. You will collaborate closely with other design staff, consultants, and clients to deliver projects that contribute to the growth and safety of Texas municipalities. This role involves managing the workload of design staff, assisting in business development activities, and reviewing transportation designs for accuracy and consistency. Your contributions will be vital in supporting multiple Public Works projects and tasks in alignment with business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Works under a Professional Engineer Team Leader in the development of municipal roadway and drainage design projects
  • Works closely with other design staff, consultants, and clients to deliver projects that contribute to the growth and safety of Texas municipalities
  • Works on multiple Public Works projects and tasks in support of business needs
  • Assists in managing the workload of design staff including other Engineers, EIT's, and technical staff
  • Works with the Public Works Team Leader and Operations Manager in business development activities
  • Assists in development and management of project scopes, budgets, and schedules
  • Reviews transportation designs and detailed plans for accuracy and consistency

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License in the State of Texas
  • At least 5 years of experience in municipal roadway and drainage design
  • MicroStation or Civil 3D CAD experience
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Positive attitude, self-directed yet a team player, and a person of high character with a focus on quality, integrity and success.
