Responsibilities

  • Apply principles of civil engineering related to operation and maintenance of civil structures.
  • Conduct field investigations to assess the condition of civil structures.
  • Oversee operation and maintenance practices to ensure compliance with safety and reliability standards.
  • Make engineering decisions and recommendations to address deficiencies in facility operations.
  • Facilitate and lead meetings, delivering presentations to various audiences.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, project teams, and management.
  • Develop strong working relationships through effective communication.
  • Write reports documenting findings from field investigations of civil structures.
  • Provide detailed guidance and instructions to others.
  • Manage facility operations and maintenance programs to improve organizational performance.
  • Ensure compliance with directives, standards, and procedures.

  • Perform quality assurance checks on data and information for accuracy and completeness.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship or U.S. National status.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution or equivalent education and experience.
  • One year of specialized experience at the GS-05 level or equivalent, or one year of graduate-level education in engineering.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
