About the position

The City of Greeley is seeking a dedicated and skilled Civil Engineer to join our Public Works Storm Water Division. This position involves a variety of responsibilities related to the review, design, and construction of infrastructure projects, specifically focusing on stormwater management. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing environmental and capital improvement projects (CIP) that are essential for maintaining and enhancing the city's infrastructure. The Civil Engineer will work closely with other engineering professionals, city planners, and stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. In this role, the Civil Engineer will be responsible for conducting thorough reviews of engineering plans and specifications, ensuring that they meet the necessary codes and standards. The position requires a strong understanding of stormwater management practices, including the design of drainage systems, retention basins, and other related infrastructure. The Civil Engineer will also be involved in the preparation of project proposals, cost estimates, and reports, as well as the coordination of project activities with contractors and other city departments. Responsibilities

  • Conduct infrastructure reviews and assessments related to stormwater management.
  • Design and oversee the construction of stormwater management systems and related infrastructure.
  • Manage environmental and capital improvement projects (CIP) within the Public Works Storm Water Division.
  • Prepare project proposals, cost estimates, and technical reports.
  • Coordinate project activities with contractors, city planners, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding stormwater management.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and staff.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited college/university.
  • 1-3 years of experience in municipal engineering or related work experience.
