The Civil Structural Geotechnical Engineer position at Armand Corporation involves working on federal construction projects related to rail, transit, and other transportation systems in New York and New Jersey. The role requires a strong background in geotechnical and structural engineering, with responsibilities that include reviewing construction documents, developing project scopes, and ensuring compliance with building codes.
Responsibilities
- Reviewing construction documents, calculations, specifications, and reports for completeness with codes and standards.
- Developing project scope of work and structural design for various structural types, including bridges, rails, and transit facilities.
- Delivering documents to various city agencies for review and approval.
- Researching existing building status from City records at various agencies.
- Managing electronic TAA submissions, analyzing and reviewing designs, documents, and geotechnical structural calculations as needed.
- Communicating with facilities to process TAA and design audit projects.
- Assuring project compliance with building codes and standards.
- Attending meetings with architects and engineers to review comments and resolve issues as necessary.
- Performing related tasks.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college related to architecture or construction engineering or architecture.
- At least 5 years of experience with geotechnical and structural codes and systems in a construction setting.
- Experience acting as an intermediary between tenants & facilities and in-house application reviewers to ensure smooth workflow.
- Proper understanding of civil, structural, and geotechnical design principles relating to the construction of transportation facilities.
- Fluent in English with strong verbal/written communication skills.
- Professional Engineer's license in State of New York and/or New Jersey.
