Responsibilities

  • Review and provide technical approval of structural designs, drawings, and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Visit construction sites to advise on design considerations and resolve construction problems.
  • Prepare or direct the preparation of designs, drawings, quantity estimates, and design documentation.
  • Design structures for hydroelectric power plants, pumping plants, switchyards, and wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Serve as TSC Team Leader, planning and coordinating activities for design preparation and construction support.
  • Represent the Technical Service Center in meetings to assist in problem resolution.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship or U.S. National status.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent education.
  • Current valid Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • One year of specialized experience at the GS-12 level in structural engineering.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with reinforced concrete, precast concrete, structural steel, timber, masonry, and miscellaneous metalwork.
