About the position

The Civil Engineer position in the Transportation Services division at raSmith offers an opportunity to work on a variety of projects that positively impact communities across the country. The role involves utilizing automated software for roadway design, coordinating with utility companies, and participating in public involvement activities, all while contributing to a people-oriented culture that emphasizes work-life balance and professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize automated software for the design of urban and rural roadways and intersections (including roundabouts)
  • Complete design and environmental documentation and reports
  • Coordinate with utility companies and other agencies
  • Participate in public involvement activities
  • Calculate quantities and develop construction cost estimates
  • Participate in transportation planning and engineering studies
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from a U.S. accredited college or university
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Applicable experience - all levels considered
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred
  • Applicable U.S. based work experience
