About the position
The Transportation/Roadway Engineer will join EMH&T's Transportation Planning and Design team, contributing to the design and development of various transportation projects. This role involves working on highway and roadway design, drainage design, and collaborating with regulatory agencies and utility companies. The position offers mentorship and exposure to a diverse range of projects, enhancing professional growth in civil engineering.
Responsibilities
- Assist with all aspects of project development and plan preparation.
- Design or redesign highways and roadways.
- Conduct interchange design and drainage design.
- Perform plan reviews and coordinate with public regulatory agencies and utility companies.
- Utilize drafting and engineering design techniques to meet client needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Experience in roadway design and ODOT plan preparation.
- Hands-on design and drafting experience using Microstation/Open Roads/Geopak.
- Working knowledge of roadway vertical and horizontal geometric design according to ODOT and AASHTO standards.
- Experience in roadway drainage design and BMP design.
- Understanding of common constructability issues.
