The Civil Engineer for Water Resources will execute technical work assignments on various water resources engineering projects, either independently or as part of a collaborative project team. This role may involve managing water resources projects from inception to completion, ensuring that all tasks are handled efficiently and effectively. The engineer will represent a municipal authority, which entails a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and the ability to navigate complex project landscapes. In this position, the engineer will provide design services specifically for water and wastewater facilities, which includes preparing Federal and State regulatory permit applications and plans. The role also requires the preparation of bid plans and specifications, as well as composing letters, memoranda, reports, applications, and studies that are essential for project documentation and communication. Fieldwork is a significant aspect of this role, involving site investigations, construction observation, and field reconnaissance to ensure that projects meet the required standards and specifications. Additionally, the engineer will review private development plans to ensure compliance with applicable authority water and sewer standards. A key responsibility will be assisting the Project Manager in establishing and maintaining relationships with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, which is crucial for the success of ongoing and future projects. This position demands a proactive approach to project management and client engagement, ensuring that all parties are informed and satisfied with the project's progress.
