Responsibilities

  • Provide planning, design, and implementation of water resources projects, including stormwater management and treatment, urban and rural drainage solutions, stormwater capture, and bridge hydraulic design
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses using industry-standard software
  • Lead the preparation of engineering plans, specifications, and reports
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders to develop innovative and sustainable solutions
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company standards
  • May participate in business development activities, including proposal preparation and client presentations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Experience and working knowledge with hydrology, hydraulics, and water resource modeling software. Software may include HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley OpenRoads Drainage & Utilities, HydroCAD, HY-8
  • Proven experience in designing various projects from concept to completion
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, stakeholders, and team members
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to project challenges
  • Working knowledge of environmental permitting processes and regulations, including NPDES, MPCA, USACE & MN DNR
  • Upon receipt of an offer of employment, applicants must be able to successfully complete pre-employment onboarding requirements that will include a criminal/civil background check and drug screen, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Water Resources or a related field
  • Experience working for municipalities, counties and Department of Transportation work in the State of Minnesota
  • Experience in climate resilience and adaptation planning
  • Knowledge of GIS tools and applications
  • Desire to participate in professional organizations related to water resources
