About the position
Kimley-Horn's Phoenix office is seeking a Civil Engineer with over 8 years of experience to join their Water/Wastewater and Utilities team. This role involves designing and managing various water transmission and distribution systems, ensuring high-quality project delivery, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and clients. The position emphasizes strong project management skills and the ability to maintain effective communication with clients and regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities
- Designing water transmission and distribution systems, pumping stations, and water treatment systems.
- Managing project tasks, design, permitting, and construction coordination.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external clients to ensure project success.
- Maintaining high-quality plans and checking the work of others.
- Creating work plans and adhering to client budgets while demonstrating strong project management knowledge.
- Attending meetings and communicating with clients, government entities, and regulatory agencies to meet project requirements.
- Monitoring project progress, budgets, and schedules.
Requirements
- 8+ years of relevant engineering design experience.
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) License or ability to obtain within 12 months.
- Relevant municipal engineering experience, including designing pump stations and pipelines.
- Experience performing hydraulic modeling using programs such as WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, and InfoWater.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Positive attitude, self-motivated, and a sense of urgency to produce high-quality work.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Entrepreneurial spirit with the potential/desire to lead a practice and manage clients and a team.
