As a Civil Engineer specializing in Water at Stantec Inc, you will be part of a dynamic team that views water management as a holistic system. You will work on various projects that focus on improving, reusing, and protecting water resources for future generations. This role is designed for an intermediate or mid-level civil engineer with a focus on water resources, allowing you to work independently on smaller projects while also collaborating as a team member on larger initiatives. Your expertise will be crucial in evaluating, selecting, specifying, and engineering systems or products for diverse projects, ensuring they meet structural reliability, resource efficiency, and cost-effectiveness standards. In this position, you will engage in a variety of complex tasks, including calculations, fieldwork, and coordination of tasks and personnel. You will have the opportunity to analyze proposed projects, ensuring they align with our commitment to sustainability and innovation. As part of your responsibilities, you may serve as the Engineer-of-Record (EOR) for projects of average complexity and size, leading engineering design tasks under the supervision of the Project Technical Lead or Project Manager. Your role will also involve preparing and revising documentation across various civil phases, including site plans, utility plans, grading plans, and more. You will lead project coordination meetings, participate in client project requirement discussions, and engage in the permitting process, which may involve liaising with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies. Additionally, you will manage and lead other team members, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. Your contributions will extend to preparing contract documents for construction, conducting quality assurance and quality control on your projects, and assisting in the development of new standards and specifications for the discipline.
