About the position

As a Civil Engineer for the water and utilities team at Girling Jones Ltd, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality engineering solutions for a multi-billion-pound pipeline of work. This role involves working closely with Senior and Principal Engineers in a dynamic team environment, focusing on the design and management of water infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Design new and replacement potable water mains
• Conduct foul drainage and CSO remediation work
• Perform conventional and urban drainage design
• Solve challenging engineering dilemmas

Requirements

• Relevant Civil Engineering degree (Masters desirable but not essential)
• 3+ years of experience within the water industry
• Knowledge of potable, surface, foul water design and/or construction
• Be working, or be willing to work towards Chartership
• Competent in 3D design and modelling using MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage
• Knowledge of Water Authority approval processes (i.e. S104, S106)
• SuDS Approval Body involvement
• Able to manage workloads effectively and efficiently to meet deadlines
• Able to work to your own initiative, independently, and within a team
• Methodical, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
