About the position

The Civil Engineer position at Jacobs in Irvine, CA focuses on supporting local and regional water quality BMP designs, hydrology/hydraulic modeling, and site civil designs. Responsibilities

  • Support local and regional water quality BMP designs.
  • Perform hydrology and hydraulic modeling.
  • Conduct site civil designs including grading and drainage.
  • Serve as a technical lead on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Coordinate resources to accomplish project goals.
  • Develop and apply water resources modeling and analyses.
  • Support local, regional, state, and federal water management planning.
  • Conduct facility operations and design studies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, with an emphasis on water resources preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of California.
  • Demonstrated experience with water resources modeling and land development.
  • Experience with site civil design, grading, drainage, and utility design.
  • Familiarity with Southern California local hydrology modeling software such as AES and CivilD.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic modeling software such as WSPGW, HEC-RAS, Flowmaster, HY-8, and Culvert Design.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong data analysis and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated and team-oriented work practices.
  • Strong organizational skills and multitasking ability.
  • Proficient computer skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Permitting experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of California hydrology and water resources is preferred.
