About the position

Mott MacDonald Bentley is seeking a Civil Engineer to join their South West Water framework on a permanent basis, based in the Exeter office. The role involves working within a multi-disciplinary project team to deliver civil engineering solutions for water projects, ensuring collaboration and a healthy work/life balance with an average of three days in the office or on-site.

Responsibilities

• Production of civil designs, calculations, and specifications to 'Issued For Construction' standard for water projects.
• Liaising with CAD technicians to enable the production of 3D models or 2D drawings.
• Working within multi-discipline design teams to produce designs that are on time, within budget, and meet required standards.
• Liaising with stakeholders including Operations, contractors, and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Driving excellence in Health and Safety in design by eliminating hazards and reducing risks while complying with CDM procedures.
• Progressing projects from feasibility stage through detailed design to construction.
• Undertaking site visits to assess the current condition of assets for feasibility studies and reports.
• Providing support to update existing and increase the number of Standard Products used within design solutions.
• Identifying and promoting opportunities to meet project digital, sustainability, innovation, and people objectives.

Requirements

• Minimum of HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience in Civil Engineering.
• Demonstrable experience in designing various civil engineering structures within the Water and Waste Water Industry.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with a range of stakeholders.
