About the position

AECOM is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to perform and have experience and practical knowledge and/or working understanding of civil site work, drainage, retaining walls, geotechnical principles, hydraulics, and construction staging. The qualified candidate will represent the client to review all design, soil and hydraulics reports, and environmental permitting/NEPA submissions by the Design-Builder and provide comments and resolutions. In a design-build project environment, there is an expectation for a blend of field and office work required. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: performing specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer; gathering and correlating basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures; working on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests; proposing approaches to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments; identifying discrepancies in results; providing guidance to entry-level engineers; and performing work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule with little supervision. The candidate will independently perform all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works. Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.

Requirements

  • BA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Valid Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Additional inspection certifications / licenses.
  • PE License CT or MA
  • Working knowledge of AutoCad
  • Familiarity with AREMA
