About the position

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Civil Engineer to join our Water Group in Pittsburgh, PA. This position will work on PWSA and ALCOSAN design and construction management projects, which include new water lines, sewer linings, and lead service line replacements. Additionally, the role offers the opportunity to engage in the construction management of the largest tunneling project ever undertaken in Western Pennsylvania. The Civil Engineer will be responsible for performing specific and moderate portions of broader assignments under the guidance of experienced engineers. This includes gathering and correlating basic engineering data using established procedures, working on detailed or routine engineering assignments that involve calculations and relatively simple tests, and proposing approaches to solve new problems encountered during projects. The engineer will also identify discrepancies in results and provide guidance to entry-level engineers. The work will be performed in accordance with agreed-upon budgets and schedules, with minimal supervision required. The position demands the ability to independently perform all tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works, requiring developmental experience in a professional setting.

Responsibilities

  • Independently perform all tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related discipline + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License and ability to pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records review.
  • EIT certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • PE certification.
  • Experience with construction management software tools, preferably e-builder.
  • Experience with scheduling software.
  • Familiarity with GIS/ESRI.
  • Experience with sewer or water lining or coatings, and water or wastewater treatment plants.
