About the position

AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineer to work on High Tech and Logistics Industrial facility projects in South Carolina. This role involves collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to focus on civil design aspects such as grading, drainage, and utilities. The position offers flexibility with hybrid work options, allowing for work from AECOM offices, remote locations, or client sites. The Civil Engineer will contribute to various engineering tasks while being supported by experienced engineers and will have opportunities for professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Perform specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
  • Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
  • Work on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
  • Propose approaches to solve new problems encountered.
  • Perform interdisciplinary review of project deliverables and identify discrepancies in results.
  • Provide guidance to entry-level engineers.
  • Prepare technical specification sections.
  • Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.
  • Design utilities, roadways, general site development, grading and drainage, best management practices, erosion control, profiles, typical sections, cross sections, and hydraulics.
  • Perform drainage studies that include low impact development strategies & hydrology.
  • Prepare drawings, specifications, basis of design, and technical memos.
  • Prepare permits such as NPDES, SWPPP, Grading, DCAB, and Civil Support of an Environmental Assessment.
  • Collaborate with other professional staff members on reports, studies, drawings, and design narratives.
  • Utilize AutoCad Civil 3D and Microsoft Office products including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering plus four (4) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized engineering university (preferred).
  • 5 years of experience (preferred).
  • A current EIT in the State of South Carolina with ability to attain PE within 2 years (preferred).
  • Excellent working knowledge of CAD Civil 3D, BIM-Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Sketchup, Lumion, V-Ray, and Rhino 3D (preferred).
  • Experience in Autodesk Revit (preferred).
  • Experience with Bluebeam, Navisworks, and Enscape (preferred).
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop and InDesign (preferred).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook (preferred).
  • Ability to meet quality, schedule, and budget expectations (preferred).
  • Desire to be mentored by leadership and provide mentorship to junior staff (preferred).
  • Detail-oriented and technical, yet experienced enough to see the big picture (preferred).
  • Ability to work independently and with large groups of technical-minded people with minimal oversight (preferred).
