The Civil Engineer position at a multidisciplinary Engineering Firm in Newton, Massachusetts, is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional looking to advance their career. The firm is experiencing explosive growth and has a pipeline of upcoming projects, necessitating the addition of an experienced Civil Design Engineer to their team. The ideal candidate will be involved in planning and designing civil and site development projects, which include site layout, grading, stormwater management, and utilities. This role requires collaboration with a multi-discipline team of architects, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineers, and structural engineers on a variety of projects spanning higher education, retail, commercial, and industrial sectors. In this position, the Civil Engineer will work closely with other technical staff to provide consulting engineering services to state and private universities, national retailers, municipalities, architects, and local development clients. The role involves daily interaction with project teams in a multi-disciplinary and multi-office environment, ensuring effective communication and project execution. The Civil Engineer will also be expected to travel to project sites for client meetings and site observations, utilizing various technical equipment for communication and documentation. The position offers a blend of office work and fieldwork, requiring the ability to maneuver around project sites and perform site observations. Minimum physical requirements include occasional lifting and carrying, as well as the capability to sit and use a computer for extended periods. Visual acuity is necessary to perform the responsibilities effectively. The firm is looking for candidates with a B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering or a related field, and a Professional Engineer (PE) License is preferred. However, candidates with an Engineer in Training (EIT) certification who plan to sit for the PE exam will also be considered. The desired experience includes a minimum of 3 years in site development or general civil engineering, along with proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software. Excellent computer and communication skills are essential for success in this role.
