About the position

LogistiQ is looking for an experienced Civil Engineer to create and review conveyor permitting packages and develop conveyor system layouts for various sites across the U.S. and Canada. This role involves working independently and may include leading projects, ensuring compliance with code specifications, and providing technical support to installation teams. The position requires proficiency in CAD software and engineering calculations, with a focus on delivering accurate and efficient designs that meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Create and/or review permitting drawing sets and calculations for accuracy and specific Jurisdictional requirements.
• Lay out conveyor systems to meet customer requirements.
• Create engineering drawings for use in permits, proposals, and installation.
• Create bills of material and routings for use in cost estimates and manufacturing.
• Perform engineering computations.
• Provide technical support to shop personnel and installation personnel.
• Perform Lead Engineer role for assigned permits including customer interaction, vendor communication, and project management as required.

Requirements

• Knowledge about one or more company products.
• Knowledge of basic permitting plans and ability to interpret building codes.
• Proficiency required in AutoCAD 2D.
• Additional proficiency preferred in Inventor/Navisworks 3D, and SolidWorks 3D.
• Proficiency required in Microsoft Office software, especially Excel.
• Ability to work with independence and initiative to provide leadership as required for a team of peers on large projects.
• Ability to perform/review fundamental engineering calculations employing software or by hand.
• Ability to team with engineering, sales, and production personnel to meet customer needs.
• Experience in Parcel/Distribution/E-Commerce conveyor systems and equipment design.
