About the position

AECOM is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to lead and manage municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects from the Fort Myers office. This role involves overseeing project execution, ensuring compliance with budget and quality objectives, and promoting AECOM's capabilities to clients.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as lead engineer and/or project manager on municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects including water pipelines, sewage collection systems, pump stations, storage tanks, water treatment systems, and wastewater treatment systems.
  • Lead the preparation of plans, specifications, cost estimates, technical reports, and other project documents.
  • Prepare project work plan, scope, schedule, and budget, and communicate these to project team members; monitor/manage project production for compliance with schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
  • Identify new business opportunities for AECOM, coordinate and participate in project presentations to clients and other external groups, and promote AECOM's capabilities.
  • Coordinate and participate in contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors and draft complex professional service agreements and addenda for review by senior management.
  • Supervise technical professionals, associate project managers, and design staff including workload and staffing management.

Requirements

  • BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license in Florida or ability to obtain reciprocity within six (6) months of hire.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working on municipal projects.
  • 3+ years of Project Management Experience.
  • Experience and familiarity with ArcGIS, AutoCAD, REVIT, MicroStation, SWMM, and/or Storm/Sewer/WaterCAD.
  • Experience working with local clients in Florida.
  • Proven interpersonal skills, including client interaction, public speaking, and persuasive ability; strong project financial management.
