About the position

Parsons is seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for completing a wide variety of challenging engineering assignments, applying advanced engineering techniques and analyses within your discipline. This position is hybrid, requiring a minimum of two days in the office each week, allowing for a blend of collaborative in-person work and flexible remote options. As a Civil Engineer at Parsons, you will perform complex engineering tasks efficiently and accurately, ensuring that all work meets the highest standards of quality. You will extract engineering information from CAD drawings and prepare essential engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs. Your assignments will include creating drawings, specifications, and other materials that are suitable for procurement and construction purposes. You will frequently interface with other engineering disciplines and departments, fostering collaboration and ensuring project success. In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will prepare detailed requisitions for equipment and materials, issue specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents. You will also provide technical guidance to CAD Designers, Drafters, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project, ensuring that all team members are aligned and informed. This role may also involve other responsibilities as appropriate, contributing to the overall success of the projects you are involved in.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex engineering tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Extract engineering information from CAD drawings.
  • Prepare engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
  • Complete a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes.
  • Interface with other Engineering disciplines and departments.
  • Prepare detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
  • Prepare and issue specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
  • Provide technical guidance to CAD Designers, Drafters, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or related field).
  • Typically 8+ years of related work experience.
  • Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering.
  • Potential to perform in a lead capacity.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with industry practices and regulations.
