About the position

The Civil Engineer position at Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) focuses on structural engineering and site design for substations and power delivery facilities. The role involves developing design criteria, performing structural and foundation design, and engaging in civil engineering tasks such as grading, drainage design, and access road design. The position may also include project management responsibilities depending on the candidate's experience and interest.

Responsibilities

• Develop design criteria for structural and site engineering projects.
• Perform structural design including standard shape steel structures and foundation designs.
• Engage in site engineering tasks such as grading, drainage, and access road design.
• Specify and design retaining walls, perimeter walls, and fences.
• Interpret hydrology studies and design water storm drawings.
• Utilize software design packages such as Visual Analysis, STAAD.Pro, and ACAD Civil 3D.
• Manage projects including scoping, budgeting, scheduling, and client interface.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organization and planning skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Commitment to quality and accuracy.
• Willingness to meet fast-paced project schedules.
• Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and design tools.
• A PE license is preferred depending on experience level.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with ACAD Civil 3D.
• Familiarity with various software design packages such as LPILE, MFAD, and CAISSON.
