About the position

AECOM is seeking a junior Civil Engineer to join the Water Group in Atlanta, GA. This role involves working on various water and wastewater design projects, providing an opportunity to collaborate with experienced professionals in the field. The position is hybrid, allowing for flexibility in work location while contributing to significant infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
• Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
• Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
• Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.
• Identifies discrepancies in results.
• Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
• Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.

Requirements

• BA/BS in Civil Engineering or related field + 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Nice-to-haves

• Course work or experience with focus on water and wastewater design, including open channel flow, stormwater and pumping systems calculations, site grading, profiling, and integration of all site services.
• Detail design of sedimentation and erosion control plans.
• Detail design of above ground and buried piping services and the preparation of construction drawings and specifications.
• Master's Degree.
