ASRC Federal Gulf States Constructors is seeking a Civil Engineer to support environmental compliance activities under the Sheppard Air Force Base contract in Wichita Falls, Texas. The role involves a variety of civil engineering tasks, including evaluating electrical systems, products, and components, as well as reviewing the Air Force Requirements & Optimization (R&O) playbook for project initiations and the development of maintenance requirements. The Civil Engineer will perform inspections on completed project work and equipment installations, ensuring that all construction meets the initial design and specifications by interpreting construction and engineering contract drawings. In addition to these responsibilities, the Civil Engineer will provide scope definition, specifications, studies, budgeting, and write-ups for project proposals, preparing initial government cost estimates for small projects. The position requires physical activities such as climbing around equipment, crawling, and working outdoors. The Civil Engineer will also consult and coordinate with electrical, structural, and mechanical engineers during the design phase to ensure a proper mechanical layout, and will support project design teams consisting of architects, engineers, and the customer's technical staff. Technical support will be provided to programmers and cost estimators, and the Civil Engineer will conduct technical reviews of Military Construction (MILCON), Unspecified Minor Military Construction (UMMC), facility projects, and architect-engineer designers' plans and specifications. Additionally, the role includes performing root cause analysis on systems that fail prematurely or systemically, reviewing AF Form 332 work request submissions for validity of scope, and performing other related duties as assigned.
