About the position

The Civil Engineer (CE) position at our company is a pivotal role that requires a comprehensive understanding of civil engineering principles and practices. The CE will be tasked with engineering future projects while also providing support during the construction and post-construction phases of current projects. This role is critical in ensuring that all engineering activities align with the company's strategic goals and project timelines. The CE will report directly to the President or the VP of Operations, making it essential to maintain effective communication and collaboration with upper management. In this position, the CE will draft conceptual plans and develop highly accurate engineering details and schedules. This involves coordinating across various engineering disciplines to ensure that all aspects of a project are aligned and executed efficiently. The CE will also perform or supervise site survey activities, which are crucial for the successful planning and execution of engineering projects. As the Engineering department continues to grow, the CE will play a significant role in building out this team, contributing to the development of best practices and innovative engineering solutions. During the construction phase, the CE will be responsible for developing or overseeing the creation of mechanical layout drawings and as-built drawings. This requires a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of construction processes to ensure that all engineering specifications are met. The position also requires periodic travel between Maryland, Delaware, and North Carolina, which is essential for overseeing projects and collaborating with on-site teams. Candidates must possess a Professional Engineer stamp or be able to obtain it within six months of employment, underscoring the importance of professional qualifications in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Engineering future projects and supporting the construction and post-construction phases of current projects as assigned by the President or VP of Operations.
  • Drafting conceptual plans and developing highly accurate engineering details and schedules.

  • Performing or supervising site survey activities.

Requirements
