About the position

Geosyntec is seeking a Civil Engineer to join their team in Kennesaw, GA. This role involves working within the utility and federal client sectors, focusing on projects related to coal combustion residuals (CCR) and Dams and Levees. The engineer will engage in innovative civil design, tackle unique water management and geotechnical challenges, and take a leading role in project and program management tasks. The position offers opportunities to collaborate with top professionals and contribute to various civil design projects across multiple practice areas.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and review technical drawings, specifications, engineering documents, and analyses for civil design, site development, stormwater management, and erosion and sediment controls.
  • Provide oversight and management of multi-disciplinary projects and assist in managing Client Programs.
  • Coordinate work efforts and review work performed by other team members.
  • Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor early-career engineers and scientists.
  • Prepare task orders and proposals including scope of work, cost estimates, and schedules.
  • Serve as the point-of-contact with clients and other project consultants.
  • Support lead generation, business development, staff development, and mentoring.
  • Help enhance the company's reputation through publishing and visibility at industry conferences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental or civil engineering or closely related discipline (required).
  • At least 7 years of progressive experience in the consulting industry or equivalent combination of education and experience (required).
  • Experience performing civil design and site grading (required).
  • Experience in task and project management (required).
  • Strong oral and technical writing skills (required).
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel (required).
  • Professional registration or ability to obtain it soon after hire (i.e., P.E.) (required).

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree in environmental or civil engineering (preferred).
  • Experience with relevant engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil3D, HydroCAD, SWMM, and ArcGIS) (preferred).
