The role includes overseeing contractual work for cleanup efforts, reviewing remedial designs, and representing the agency in various meetings. This position is office-centered, requiring regular physical presence at one of the designated duty stations, with potential for work-from-home flexibility after meeting eligibility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Intermediate Level Civil Engineer on engineering practices related to contaminated groundwater treatment.
• Direct contractual work efforts for cleanup duties to ensure effective use of federal funds.
• Review and provide comments on remedial designs and various design reports.
• Prepare briefings and reports, representing the Region at meetings and conferences regarding waste treatment and management.

Requirements

• At least one year of specialized experience related to the position, such as providing engineering consultation on Superfund hazardous waste sites.
• Successful completion of a professional engineering degree from an accredited university or college.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations including CERCLA, SARA, NEPA, RCRA, CWA, and others.
