About the position

The Civil Engineer position at Actalent involves mastery in land development design, including the production of site layouts, grading plans, and storm-water management reports. The role requires preparing and reviewing construction documents and engineering plans, ensuring compliance with technical standards and project requirements. The engineer will coordinate with project teams and clients, facilitate regulatory approvals, and provide expert testimony at municipal boards.

Responsibilities

• Mastery in land development design, producing site layouts, plans and profiles, grading plans, storm-water management reports, drainage calculations, pump calculations, water and sewer line design, and road design.
• Prepare and review construction documents, engineering plans and specifications, ensuring all designs meet technical standards and project requirements with minimal supervision.
• Coordinate with project team members to ensure smooth project execution from conception to completion.
• Communicate directly with clients and provide detailed project updates.
• Coordinate project submittals, facilitate regulatory agency approvals, and obtain construction permits.
• Provide expert testimony at various municipal and county boards.
• Communicate and coordinate technical evaluations and designs, produce reports in technical writing format.
• Coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies as required for project approvals.

Requirements

• Licensed PE (at least 2 years)
• Independently work in AutoCAD (producing site layouts, plans and profiles, grading plans, storm-water management reports)
• Comfortable public speaking in front of local municipalities.
