WSP is currently initiating a search for a Civil/Geotechnical Engineer for our Elko, NV office. Be involved in projects with our US Mine Waste Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work as a part of a regional team on challenging mining, heavy civil, and geotechnical projects. You will be working within our mine waste team on civil and geotechnical engineering projects for the mining industry, with opportunities to work on projects in other industries. Your responsibilities will include performing engineering tasks such as site and material characterization, facility design including grading, storage capacity, and construction quantity evaluations, as well as slope stability, seepage, consolidation, liner system, and settlement analyses. You will also engage in permafrost soils and cold region related engineering analyses, design, and thermal modeling, along with surface water management facility design and analysis. In addition to these tasks, you will be responsible for preparing portions of technical reports that document field and laboratory investigations, engineering analyses, and facility designs. You will assist with the preparation of project design packages including technical drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates. The role may require performing domestic and international field assignments, such as geotechnical investigations and construction monitoring. You will work with cross-functional teams in executing project work and complete training on assigned tasks. It is essential to exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, adhering to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
