The Civil Engineer position at MBP involves a comprehensive range of responsibilities primarily focused on transportation construction projects. The role requires a candidate with 5 to 15 years of experience in transportation construction, with a preference for those who have experience in transportation design. The Civil Engineer will be responsible for project assignments that include on-site construction representation for clients, preparation of project documentation, cost estimating, scheduling, and plan review. Additionally, the engineer will conduct research of records and may perform reviews of project records, schedules, and as-built construction to evaluate change orders and requests for extensions of time. The position demands independent application of techniques and analysis for problem-solving, ensuring the quality and timeliness of deliverables even amidst periodic fluctuations in workload. The Civil Engineer will also receive training, participate in company activities, and handle various administrative duties as assigned. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of construction projects, requiring a strong foundation in engineering principles and project management skills. Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering and hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license, as local licensing regulations may restrict the use of the Engineer title without it. Knowledge in critical path method scheduling, cost estimating, project budgeting, delay analysis, constructibility and design review, inspections, and quantity take-offs is essential. Furthermore, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with Bluebeam, P6, and CADD software is preferred. The role also requires the ability to work collaboratively within a project team, execute tasks independently, and maintain detailed records and reports related to the work.
